SAKATA GINTOKI |
▶VISUAL: Gintoki has a pale complexion with red eyes that are often equated with those of a dead-fishes. His facial features droop lazily which gives way to a rather disheveled appearance. He typically wears his school uniform with his blazer unbuttoned, though when not in school he wears clothing that involves several, unkempt layers. While his form is stocky with natural muscle tone, he has a consistent layer of “squish” over his muscles. Rumors fly that he would "clean up" well, but really he simply looks as if he has no goals, no ambitions, and low morals.
▶AURAL: Gintoki is played by Tomokazu Sugita. While his voice is typically low, he can hit incredibly high tones and certainly has no issues shrieking. His voice is highly versatile and can hold a great deal of emotion. Though he typically speaks in a manner that is rambling and disaffected, he often lilts his voice when referring to others by name in order to properly tease them. Though as he gets progressively more excitable or caught up in a topic, he will often speak faster and his pitch will rise. His manner of speech could be described as vulgar and blunt… unless he wants something. Then he’ll use the proper polite expressions and honorifics in hopes of weaseling his way out of a situation. Oh, and he cannot sing. At all.
▶ SCENT: Misc. Japanese sweets most commonly. Other scents range from rotted sugar morning breath, alcohol, terrible feet stank if his boots are off (wear socks, boy we’re begging you), sweat, iron (blood).
▶BEHAVIOR: Gintoki is a lazy man with little care for societal formalities. He insists on being casual, even if it may be inappropriate for the situation. In order to make connections with others, he will often start petty confrontations to see if those around him will take his bait. Though how much energy Gintoki expends during any given moment is solely up to him. If he’s not feeling up to “wasting” his energy, then he will simply resort to being a sluggish bastard. A boy who enjoys being in the background just as much as the foreground, he often takes the time to simply watch the city around him - free from any obligations. Despite this lazy demeanor, he can be driven to outbursts of emotion. When driven into rage, Gintoki shows to be erratic in his mannerisms. If fear takes hold of him, he will scream and run away.

GENIS SAGE |
▶VISUAL: Standing at 165cm, Genis is noticeably shorter than most other boys his age, and along with his pure white hair and blue eyes, he tends to stand out. Although he also has Japanese features, they aren't pronounced enough for most people to not mistake for a foreigner.
Still, he tends to have a focused look about him, and his resting expression is a small smile. At school, he tends to wear his uniform with the buttons of his blazer all done up, and the whole thing looking very neat. Outside of school, he tends to wear typical casualwear with simple designs on him. None of his clothes seem particularly expensive or fancy.
▶AURAL: Genis has a mid-range, expressive voice that always betrays his emotions. It can have a bit of a lilt to it because of this, especially when he's joking. He doesn't have an accent when he speaks Japanese, though his English can come out a bit more slowly and awkwardly.
▶ SCENT: Genis doesn't usually smell like much of anything aside from the soap and conditioner he uses. In the mornings, he sometimes still smells like whatever he made himself for breakfast and lunch. Or like something burnt if it was a particularly unfortunate morning...
▶BEHAVIOR: For all that he wants to come off like he's so great and mature, Genis can be pretty childish. He enjoys teasing people and making jokes, and he can be incredibly easy to annoy or rile up if the right buttons are pressed. But, generally, he's pretty nice to most people and happy to talk to and help others. He's especially focused during class and rarely has his eyes away from the lesson.

▶VISUAL: Standing at average height if not on the short side at 5'5", Sachihiro is a lanky kid with short unkempt black hair and a constantly goofy expression. He has brown eyes and a golden-tan complexion due to all his time spent outside. His features have a western flair to them though his Greater Asian features are also noticeable, making his mixed heritage seem all the more obvious.
▶AURAL: Sachihiro speaks with a higher somewhat nasal-like voice. And if he is screaming, which he tends to do quite often, his voice cracks and becomes quite harsh. He is voiced in the anime by Shinnosuke Furumoto and usually tends to sound like this.
▶ SCENT: Depending on his current state of affairs Sachihiro can smell like a great number of things. More often than not he'll have the usual smell of an 18 year old boy living on his own, aka not that great. He also tends to overdo it on the body-spray in hopes that he can 'attract the ladies'. He's also been known to have stolen alcohol from time to time and can smell quite strongly of it if he's had a few drinks.
▶BEHAVIOR: Quick, full of energy, and optimistic to a fault, Sachihiro is that burst of youthful vigor that most adults seem to look back on in envy. He also has the libido of an unneutered dog in a room full of legs. Skirt chasing is his hobby and he takes to it almost religiously. He is the type of person who rarely holds a grudge and remains constantly optimistic.

KIM ADD |
▶VISUAL: On a first impression, Add comes off as imposing and perhaps a little scary. He embraces the no-good delinquent look with short spiky hair, two piercings on his right ear, and a practiced sneer befitting a psychopath. He nearly always has a wireless earpiece over his left ear. While he might seem like a complete thug at first, though, he prefers to avoid all forms of human contact unless absolutely necessary, so in class he's easily overlooked. He's quiet and stays out of the way. He keeps his uniform neat, though he doesn't always button it up all the way.
Out of school he likes to wear hoodies and jackets, lots of dark colours, chokers, tight pants, etc. Typical edgy bad boy punk outfits.
▶AURAL: Add is voiced by Jeong Jae-heon and sounds like an edgy tryhard. He has a super obnoxious laugh and talks to himself a lot when he thinks no one is listening (and sometimes when people are literally right there and staring at him and judging his life choices because he's been off in his own little world for who knows how long).
His native language is Korean; he practices by swearing in class and listening to an embarrassing amount of KPOP. Since he started speaking Japanese at a young age, he doesn't have much of a noticeable accent. His English is kind of godawful, though. Sometimes he still tries to stick English phrases into his sentences like it makes him sound cool (it doesn't).
▶ SCENT: Mainly disinfectant, laundry soap, lavender-scented shampoo/conditioner... books. Lots of cleaning supplies. You can tell he thoroughly bathes himself at least once a day, if not more frequently than that. He is impeccably clean whenever he can be. If he's been working on a personal project and hasn't had the time to go home yet he might smell a bit like grease or burnt wiring.
Also cats. No matter how hard he tries to keep his work uniforms separate, the cat hair still manages to spread to all of his clothing like some sort of virus.
▶BEHAVIOR: Cold and sarcastic attitude to most people, he hates socializing and makes no effort to hide this fact. On the other hand he is extremely short tempered, and once he's had a couple buttons pushed he turns into a grinning, trash-talking asshole. He's also quick to brag if given a suitable opportunity.
Despite his attitude and his bragging, his self-worth is pretty low. He has difficulty maintaining eye contact and gets nervous talking in front of crowds. He's very sensitive and will respond to any form of humiliation with either violent outbursts or going disturbingly quiet before finding an excuse to storm out.

His favourite jacket is this really cool black hoodie with a fur trim, which would perfectly fit his bad guy look if it weren't for the fact that it has adorable little cat ears on top. He tends to keep the hood down so it isn't immediately obvious.
TAKASUGI SHINSUKE |
▶VISUAL: From aesthetically unkempt hair to chest revealed just a dip lower than appropriate, Takasugi's entire image paints the picture of aloof distaste for appearances. Which is exactly what wants to project, since he totally cares for them. The teen does not hesitate to take up all space available to him, spreading himself out at his desk or taking up a whole couch with crossed legs. Though rare, sometimes he'll walk around with cuts and bruises visible from whatever recent fight he's been in. He can typically be seen smoking or drinking Yakult. If you're nice, he'll treat you to one.
▶AURAL: Takasugi is voiced by Takehito Koyasu. His voice is low, a smooth tone that lilts and meanders as it spills from his lips. The boy's voice has always been deep, not carrying notable volume or sharpness. Though not made for yelling, Takasugi can take a threateningly cold tone, silence more poignant than a shout. There typically isn't a large range of pitch in Takasugi's voice, with the exception of his inclination to chuckle. When the teen expresses his amusement, it's in a high pitched, mocking clip of a laugh that never lasts long.
▶ SCENT: Cigarette smoke is usually noticeable on him, though he doesn't reek of tobacco. Instead, Yakult or a faint hint of alcohol may waft from his breath, while his clothing emanates either the traditional scents of his mentor's residence or the musky sweet bite of cheap concrete from a habit of trespassing. On very rare occasion, he may also smell of marijuana, though he doesn't smoke the cheap stuff.
▶BEHAVIOR: In one word: edgy. He cuts class, picks fights, breaks rules and brings weapons to school. But he also samples ramen around town, gets massages, sorts recycling and gets shit on by Gintoki, so it's a mixed bag. Typically, he'll remain aloof even if he's very invested in his endeavors. Incredibly determined, he sees activities through to their end, even if they don't suit him. He'll expend the same amount of energy beating down a rival gang as he will with pool-cleaning duty, should he actually show up that day. Takasugi isn't lazy, but if he's going to sit around he'd rather do it in a space chosen by him than his classroom desk. He's not one to reach out to make friends; if he's talking to someone new, he finds personal interest in them or is attempting to provoke trouble.

Akitsu Masanosuke |
▶VISUAL: Masanosuke is tall and thin, willowy and seemingly miniscule in build -- but upon closer examination or even during physical exertion, it's clear he's actually rather fit and lithe. He seems concerned with his appearance, from the way he pins his hair back every day and wears his clothes (almost always dark and muted) well -- even if they're always about a size or two too big, perhaps an attempt to hide the slightness of his frame. His most remarkable feature are his eyes, very big and very dark. They are expressive, to say the least.
▶AURAL: He's voiced by Daisuke Namikawa. You can hear it for yourself here, although I will warn you that you won't be able to not watch the anime after viewing that trailer. So much scenery porn. Keeping in line with his feudal way of speaking, Masa will still be using the -Dono honorific and would speak an archaic way to many of the inhabitants of Shiroiwa ("de gozaru", "sessha" "soregaki"). I may pull a "dub Kenshin Himura" every once in a while to convey in that in tags. He is polite to the point of self-deprication.
▶ SCENT: Nothing out of the ordinary. Cat? Fresh laundry, sometimes sweat. He's pretty clean and doesn't have any terrible habits.
▶BEHAVIOR: He's extremely shy, conflict-avoidant, gullible, and easy to manipulate. He takes what people are saying at face-value and doesn't suspect deeper motivations until it's too late. Trusting and trustworthy, he's prefers peace and quiet and his temperament reflects those things -- at least, until he gets in front of too many people and flees. Definitely well-known as a coward and socially challenged. He's perfectly fine and very open and earnest if you get him one-on-one though. He doesn't exactly self-loathe, but he wants to be able to change himself into a person who isn't so frightened of people, crowds, and women all the time. Has a pretty intense Big Brother side to him once he gets close to someone, and he'll say things other people wish he didn't. Like feelings. His feelings. Your feelings. Hope you weren't hiding those.
He always seems to show up to Kendo Club, no matter how many times he's ran away with performance anxiety.

▶VISUAL: Fair complexion, small to medium framed. Hair is shorter, below his ears, often with a spaced out look.
▶AURAL: Polite and soft, obviously shy.
▶ SCENT: They shower daily, but don't like to wear cologne. He smells natural and fresh, the way he likes it.
▶BEHAVIOR: Standoffish, the kind who won't usually speak unless spoken to. Reads alot and is intelligent. More head over heart, unless his integrity is questioned.

GEUN, PERIDOT |
▶VISUAL: Obviously, the most notable aspect of Peridot is her impressively tiny height. Nothing she could wear and none of her features can distract from the fact that she is well below the height of her fellow students, and the stressed resting look on her face reflects the fact that she is well aware of this unfortunate trait. Aside from this, her complexion is pale and almost sickly, a true testament to her time spent in her room, curtains drawn with no desire for light outside of her computer screen. Her frame doesn't help these unhealthy looking traits, as she is on the scrawnier end of average, not quite to the point of skin and bones, but lacking in muscle tone and fat alike. To make matters worse, her eyes are continually covered with thick, round colorless prescription glasses that take up a good portion of her face. She tries to counter all this with nice, straightened, and clean clothes of the most professional look possible, keeping her student uniform in near-perfect condition. At home, however, she is prone to letting loose and dropping all pretexts of fashion to wear her numerous baggy video game hoodies and loose pants.
▶AURAL: Peridot is voiced by Shelby Rabara, and so voice is naturally high-pitched, though not to the extent of naturally shrill. Peridot usually has two different tones of voice, that being what she wants people to hear, and what she actually sounds like. The former is a voice suited for the image she tries to make of herself, an even and quiet tone fitting for how often she rapidly spouts out specifications and large, technical jargon. She sounds more appropriate for talking to herself in this tone, an she is quite prone to grumbling and growling to herself. However, even with this projected tone, her voice can be broken by strange noises whenever she is interrupted or flustered. Her other, more natural voice, is much louder and less controlled, hinging on childish. She is known for getting worked up when she no longer is putting up a show, and she is susceptible to bursts of loud yelling and voice wavering, as she is not good at all with hiding her emotions during these points. On the other end of extremes, whenever she is happy, there is likely going to be a bout of villainous maniacal laughter to ring in her victory.
▶ SCENT: Peridot doesn't enjoy smelling far too fragrant, though she doesn't like reeking either. So, she will usually compromise with subtle perfumes which give only a hint of floral scents, and odorless deodorant. This way, she can ensure her scent is about as subtly refreshing as possible. Her breath will likely smell of mint toothpaste and mouthwash, as well.
▶BEHAVIOR: On first glance, Peridot will be the definition of a professional and diligent working nerd. She will often have her face buried in books or her computer, focusing entirely on whatever the issue at hand is. As such, she won't really venture out to make any talk when there's outstanding work to be done. For her, responsibilities and obligations come first. If someone is to talk to the nerd, however, they will find that perhaps she is best left alone. She is notoriously self-centered, to the point of narcissism, and won't hesitate to tell people of their faults or flaws firsthand. She is terrible at holding a conversation without it inevitably steering back towards talking about herself or her opinions. Even worse, half the time she doesn't even mean the hurtful things she might say, as she possesses no savvy in conversations. When annoyed or ner someone she dislikes, she will often resort to loud, childish arguments, not afraid to get into nerd slapfights if it is so demanded. Otherwise, she will be content with imitating people, cracking bad jokes, and cycling through her 5 total insulting names. More often than not, though, if said person presents any real danger, she would much rather run away and make herself scarce.
